A Perfect Brand Fit for Barnsley Resort

The Situation

This 3000 acre North Georgia resort, opened in the 1980s, offers a unique connection to the outdoors through golf, horseback riding, shooting and hiking. It’s a perfect destination for weekend travelers and corporate planners looking for a break from the norm. In addition to their spa and amazing restaurants, their estate cottages offer cozy accommodations like no other. As they were adding a new 55-room inn, Barnsley Resort enlisted our services to take their branding to the next level.

Our Approach

The leadership at Barnsley Resort shared their newly-established brand positioning that helped us understand the intent for the brand. Working from a brand manifesto and diving into competitive brands and messaging, we worked with key stakeholders to develop a vision board to show how we could evolve their brand identity to carve out a unique visual footprint while embracing the qualities they wanted to evoke.




We used the approved vision board as a guide to update Barnsley Resort’s brand. While the logo remained unchanged, we designed a full brand identity system including an updated color palette, typography selections, brand assets, brand style guide, and identity kit. We also created resort signage, print ads, marketing materials, trade show banners, an illustrated resort map, spa and experiences brochures, corporate marketing materials and much more.

Working with Barnsley Resort offered us the opportunity to collaborate with a leadership team that had a strong vision for how their brand needed to evolve. We were able to be a creative partner that could not only bring their vision to life through several channels, but also be as nimble and responsive as they have to be in the hospitality space.
