Arbor-Nomics

There’s No Branding Like Gnome Branding

The Situation

Arbor-Nomics is a lawn care company that focuses on the Atlanta metro area. Competing against national brands with much larger marketing budgets required Arbor-Nomics to have a unique visual brand and message to build awareness in this crowded space. They asked us to create a new brand to embrace why their clients love them as well as stand out from their competition.

Our Approach

We partnered with Arbor-Nomics’ marketing team, Superus Marketing, to develop a new brand strategy. Working from client interviews, we discovered that Arbor-Nomics’ best client was not new to lawn care, but a “switcher.” While competitors told people why they needed lawn care, we focused the new brand and messaging on why us. We realized it’s not always possible to reach customers at the exact moment they were looking for lawn care options, so we created a brand that was imminently memorable. In a space where all marketing looks nearly identical, Arbor-Nomics had a great opportunity.

Solution

We introduced the Arbor-Nomics yard gnome, which lives only in the healthiest and happiest Atlanta yards. This little guy, and a more simplified typeset logo, replaced a dated “rainbow” logo and created a memorable icon that was unique to their brand. We centered the revamped brand messaging on the experience and knowledge of their staff, their focus on the Atlanta area, and their high-touch customer engagement. To carve-out their space even more, we updated truck graphics, apparel, website, newsletters, digital advertising, outdoor advertising, social sites, collateral, print advertising and developed an unforgettable brand video.

“We worked with Reckon for many years and they always provided thoughtful creative solutions that worked within the realities of our budgets, timelines and goals. They always heard what we wanted, but better yet knew what we needed.”
