Celebrating Undiscovered Artists with Reckon Branding’s Own “Art in the Treehouse”

Over the 24 years of being in business, we at Reckon Branding have been blessed to build long-lasting friendships with our clients and partners. And through those relationships, we have learned that many of these individuals have hidden artistic talents that have not seen the light of day. Regardless of the medium or experience level, we feel every creative deserves a stage and the opportunity to inspire other “closet” creatives. This was the genesis of “Art in the Treehouse,” a one-day event where the Reckon Branding office is turned into a pop-up art gallery featuring local artists and closet creatives alike.

Our second annual Art in the Treehouse event was held on Saturday, June 10th of this year. We brought together seventeen local artists showcasing a variety of work, including watercolors, oil paintings, needlepoint, illustrations, mixed media, and even a handmade lightsaber. And while it was only a 3-hour event, we had well over 125 people grace the halls of our office, with many pieces being purchased.

Vanna Black, a local artist who had many pieces on display, shared with us, “It was great to get additional exposure for my passion. Meeting new people in a new space was exciting. Everything was well-curated, and I was impressed not only with the wide variety of artists but also with how everything meshed so well together. You could tell the team at Reckon Branding put a lot of thought into the flow of the whole event.”

When we first held this event in 2022, we were ecstatic to have over 60 people show up, supporting mainly artists from our immediate circle. When we decided to do this again in 2023, we were thrilled to see many new artists from our community submit artwork to be included in the show.

Our own Dawn Gahan was not only instrumental in the planning and execution of the event but also showcased some of her own work, “As both a contributing artist and organizer, I experience all sides to Art in the Treehouse: the hard work and passion that goes into creating this exhibition as well as the joy of seeing my work in a gallery setting, being enjoyed by all the attendees. It really is an event I look forward to. And what we witnessed this year, following the success of last year’s show, is that it’s gotten traction not just amongst the Reckon Branding’s friends-and-family crowd but the Atlanta art community. So fun to work on a successful idea that blossoms into something bigger and better from one year to the next.”

So, we’re already looking forward to 2024! With the huge step forward we made with this year’s show, we can’t wait to see what will come to fruition with next year’s show. Now go get your paints, colored pencils, digital camera, or whatever you secretly use to express those creative urges. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on our social platforms so you can be notified when next year’s event will be held. We’ll be sure to save some space on our walls for your work!
